Such a sweet ride grew up workin with the old man, we had several types of tow trucks, but classic is always Nice. and at 2500 wut a steal,

I would drill and weld that crack and rebuild that engine for a nice old car or truck to drive for fun.

Where I live (Ontario) you can't use one of these unless you are licensed by the province. Apparently, unless things have changed, you can't even haul your own (or your buddy's) vehicles. I hope you store Bernie inside as this rig is really beautiful. Nice score!

Holmes built the best wreckers, hands down!. They're legendary for what they can do, when doing a job and the front of the truck came off the ground that meant it was just starting to do work.

I have a 77 F350 with a wreck master body. 300 6cyl. 4spd. Makes a great engine hoist.

Yes it's the best truck in your fleet as work vehicles go..and I not a ford guy per say but in the 70 they were really good ...also was a tow truck driver at the service station in worked at in the mid 70s had a Holmes 440 on a 66 c30 ..I always enjoy your videos greatly

Nice rig for sure but it needs a Union 76 orange antenna topper ball like what used to be seen all the time many years ago. Theres a couple places on ebay that sell original vintage 76 antenna balls & they have the ones with the gas pump handle on the side . I remember when NASCAR was using them as a sponsor and they were supplying them with race fue way back in the day. I just bought 1 for my old square body chebbie .

Wonderful to see a commercial truck in such amazing condition after 50 years, quite a find! My father had a custom truck body, equipment, and semi trailer business in the 70's-90's and worked on and sold Fruehauf semi trailers. Fruehauf was the big player with a history of producing unique truck equipment and bodies. I am thinking the wrecker body may have been built by Fruehauf to Holmes specs and outfitted by Holmes with their wrecker equipment, but??? Not uncommon in the truck equipment business for specialty designs. Also, dad had a 1975 F150 Custom "family shop truck" that we had for 20+ years. My brother and sister and I eventually learned to drive on that truck and remember well that dash! I remember doing bodywork and prepping it for paint at the shop at one point later in its life. Thanks for the father's day memory. Hope Duff opens some hoods for you on Fathers Day.
